Shibas in the Big Rings, Memorial Day Weekend (5/28-31/2010)

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Otherwise known as “Shibas Go Wild in the Group Rings”, with no less than 13 group placements over the space of 4 days, shibas were definitely making themselves known in the big rings.

First, with a perfect four for four weekend, was Ch. Kumi One Ten Soldier. He picked up a Group III & Group IV at Warren County KC under judges Terri Lyddon & William Cunningham respectively. Then at Cincinnati KC, Ellen Fetter awarded him a Group IV and finally (also at Cincinnati KC) Norman B. Kenney gave him a Group III.

Also having a wonderful holiday weekend was Ch. Jogoso’s Fool for Love with awards at San Gabriel (Group II under Gary Doerge), Los Encinos (Group III from Beverly Capstick) and Antelope Valley (Group III from Lesley Hiltz).

Up in Alaska comes a report from Liz Williams that her Ryder, new Ch. Wilhaven’s Enjoy the Ride RN won two placements at Tanana Valley KC, first a Group IV from Mrs. D. Cornelssen and a whopping Group FIRST from R. Camacho.

To round up the last day of the Tanana Valley KC circuit, Ch. Torii’s Golden Boy also got a Group III from Mr. JR Cole.

and finally, at Gloucester KC of Virginia Ch. Mo’s Grand Thunderstorm continued his winning ways with a Group II under Jacqueline Stacy.

Through the end of May the top shiba in All Breed points was Ch. Jogoso’s Fool For Love (see above) and tops in breed points was Ch. Yuko’s Chief Red Eagle.

Shibas “Down Under” week ending May 31, 2010

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Thanks to Debbie Bexton (Orienta) for these reports! Debbie it might be nice if you could do a little writeup for us (in your copious spare time!) explaining how dog shows work in Australia as some of the awards seem a bit different from what we’re used to here in the U.S.

Still looking for someone to be reporting Europe & Asia! And I haven’t forgotten USA, I’m waiting for Janeen Macom to wake up and read my note asking for a photo LOL

Shibas in the Big Rings week ending May 22

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Okay, moving right along, I’m still in May, but working on getting caught up!

Third weekend in May brought us THREE group placements in the U.S.

First at Coyote Hills Kennel Club on May 22, 2010, Judge Ms. Marjorie J. Underwood awarded the big yellow rosette (Group III) to Ch. Taichung O’so Handsome. Oso has had a great few months rising in the rankings very quickly to #1 in breed points.

Then that same weekend at Myrtle Beach KC 1 & 2, Ch. Mo’s Grand Thunderstorm visited the BIS ring not once, but twice. May 22nd’s judge was Dr. Albert Bianchi and May 23rd’s judge was Judge: Ann Hearn. We’re proud of our great great great grandson (give or take a few greats :) )
