Shibas in the Big Rings ending May 9, 2010

Okay, here’s the scoop gentle readers (and this includes those that are not so gentle). The monthly thing isn’t working for me very well, so I’m going to change tactics, I will do what I can when I can and then I will put an ending date on it so you can find results quickly. Hopefully this will work better for me!

In addition, I will post Canadian results separately as I get them from Patricia under the heading Shibas North of the Border, and Australian results from a Facebook friend (need to look up that name!) under Shibas Down Under! Thanks for volunteering you two and if anyone else wants to take a section of the world and claim it as their own, please feel free to send me results and photos!

Onto the May results for the U.S. ….

Ch. Mo’s Grand Thunderstorm continues his march toward the top part of the rankings with two more placements on May 1st and 2nd under Mr. Lester Mapes (Group III) and Ms. Elizabeth Muthard (Group IV) respectively at Chesapeake Virginia DFA 1 & 2. What you may not know about Lester Mapes is that he was also an actor in community theater. He came to talk to the Chicagoland Alaskan Malamute one evening as our program and what a fun program it was. His stories about the theatre were hilarious. I wish I could remember them … :) but something about a toga comes to mind

During the same weekend under Mrs. Molly Martin, a dog named Jogoso’s California Gold Rush (aka Bodie) managed a Group II from the classes on May 1st at Lake Mathews KC. I have a photo of the win, just have to find it in my mass of emails. Found it, also notification that he finished his championship a few weeks later but more about that later on. Other information is that Bodie is sired by the 2008 National Specialty winner Ch. Pacific Rim Whole Lotta Love (does he have a mom too? :) )

And rounding out the weekend, the lovely Ch. Justa Setsuzan Roki Yama’s Azorra won a big white rosette (4th) at Seward County KC under Mrs. Karen McFarlane. Go bitches!

Wow, one week done, that wasn’t so hard ….
Onto the next weekend. We had shows all over the place along with some nice wins. To start out the weekend up at Badger KC the black and tan boy that I’m showing for Holli Levine, Edward (aka Hi-Jinx Sirius Black) took a really nice Group III placement in the puppy groups at Badger KC. Don’t know the judge but thanks to Pat Doescher for donating some really nice baskets for Best of Breed and Best Puppy. I’ll try to remember to file a more complete show report in a bit.

The rest of the week was great for our 2009 National winner, Buddy who remains at the top of the All-Breed standings through May (Canine Chronicle) with wins like this. Also known as Ch.Jogoso’s Fool for Love,  Buddy received two Group II rosettes at Rio Hondo KC under Mrs. Isabell Stoffers & Mrs. Kenneth Berg. Thanks to Missy McCarty for this new photo of Buddy at the National.

Okay, I think that’s it for today, May is to be continued and followed by Canada and Aussie results. If I’ve missed anyone in the U.S.,  please let me know! It can be BBE or Puppy Groups as well.
